OSAKA, Japan -- November 16 2004 -- Jack Copper, CEO of NeuralWare, delivered a presentation describing NeuralWare technology and its role in applied artificial intelligence for biotechnology and advanced information technology organizations at the Global Venture Forum (GVF) 2004 in Osaka, Japan.

Mr. Copper introduced forum participants to artificial neural networks, and discussed how the adaptive learning power of neural networks can be applied to any domain that generates large amounts of data that must be analyzed to extract knowledge.

Mr. Copper also described several NeuralWare technology success stories that show real-world results that NeuralWare partners and customers have achieved with the NeuralWorks Predict® and NeuralSight® product lines. The DuPont Acurum™ advanced grain image analysis system demonstrates the use of neural networks in an imaging application that is similar to many biotechnology and life sciences imaging challenges. Research at the Windber Research Institute into the causes of breast cancer is an example of the use of neural networks in the quest to find biomarkers that identify the state of disease progression.

Also during the forum and in later meetings, Mr. Nobuyuki Sakamoto, Pennsylvania authorized representative for Japan, provided very helpful suggestions for ways to increase NeuralWare’s sales into the Biotechnology and Information Technology sectors in Japan. Preliminary arrangements were made for follow-up meetings in the US in June 2005 when a delegation of Japanese Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical companies will visit the US.
