NeuralWorks® Professional II/PLUS is the world standard for comprehensive
neural network development environments. Professional II/PLUS is
available for UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems on a variety of
hardware platforms; data and network files are fully interchangeable.
The Professional II/PLUS package contains comprehensive documentation
that address the entire neural network development and deployment
process, including a tutorial, a guide to neural computing, standard and
advanced reference manuals, and platform-specific installation and user
guides.
NeuralWare's proprietary InstaNet facility allows quick generation of a
neural network based on any one of 28 standard neural network
architectures described in neural network literature. After a network
is created, all parameters associated with it can be directly modified
to more closely reflect the problem domain. Professional II/PLUS
includes advanced features such as performance measure-based methods to
inhibit over-fitting; automatic optimization of hidden layer size and
the ability to prune hidden units; and an Explain facility that
indicates which network inputs most influence network outputs.
In addition to a wide variety of built-in diagnostic monitoring tools,
Professional II/PLUS provides an interface through which user-written
programs can supply input data and process neural network outputs. The
Designer Pack and User Defined Neuro-Dynamics add-on packages offer even
more custom programming flexibility.

NeuralWorks Professional II/PLUS Features
Multi-Paradigms
NeuralWorks is a multi-paradigm neural network prototyping and
development tool. Researchers, scientists, analysts and engineers can
design, build, train, test and deploy neural networks to solve complex
real-world problems. Dozens of well-known, built-in network types can be
quickly generated. Numerous enhancements to back-propagation and other
networks are included. Networks are displayed graphically in monochrome
or full color. PEs and connections can be easily added or deleted.
Dozens of math functions and learning rules can be mixed and matched.
Custom Networks
You can create your own network types by writing customized script
files. By invoking one of these script files, you can have a custom
network created on the screen in seconds. You can also customize the
flow of data through the network with a user-defined control strategy.
Every paradigm included with the product is accompanied by the script
file and control strategy as an example of how to create the network
type.
Professional II/PLUS users can also build custom networks using the
tools in the object palette.
Instrumentation
Powerful diagnostic capabilities allow you to monitor weights, errors,
activations and more with pre-built and custom on-screen graphic
displays. This diagnostic data can also be sent to a file or a user
program. You can use the diagnostic data to adjust parameters within a
network to improve learning.
Network IO
Data for networks can be supplied from the keyboard or an ASCII file.
The data file format is compatible with spreadsheet and database
files. An extensive data pre-processing capability is included. You can
also design a custom user interface in C (numerous examples with
source code are included). This custom user interface can query a user,
read from a file or port and display results using NeuralWorks graphics
calls.
