NeuralWare Academic License Programs
|
 |
|
Universities and other accredited degree granting institutions have always been important NeuralWare partners. NeuralWare software is used in classrooms and academic research facilities around the globe in engineering, medicine, business, computer science, psychology, and other disciplines. Students and faculty get hands-on use of sophisticated software that both demonstrates the power of neural networks and that can be used to solve real problems. Representative academic research areas include:
| |
predicting the effects of weather uncertainties on power systems; |
| |
neural network-based measurement systems to provide material structural information to a process controller during polymer sheet extrusion; |
| |
predicting business failures;
|
| |
predicting exchange rates;
|
| |
face and other types of image recognition;
|
| |
investigating human recognition of auditory patterns such as speech and music and correlations with cognitive psychology and science and
|
| |
breast cancer detection.

Here is what one of our long time academic users has to say about her use of NeuralWare software in the classroom or for research:
"After nine years of very successful licensed access to NeuralWare's software at the University of Hartford, I would like to thank NeuralWare for giving us access to powerful tools for modeling, prediction and pattern recognition. My teaching and NSF-funded research work in the area of Microelectronics VLSI circuits have greatly benefited from the use of the Professional II/PLUS development system. In fact, many students, faculty and staff have expressed strong interest in expanding their use of neural net technology."
- Abby Ilumoka, Ph.D, M. Sc
Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering
University of Hartford
NeuralWare offers several different licensing options which provide faculty and students affiliated with accredited degree-granting institutions the flexibility to install and use NeuralWare technology under terms that are most appropriate for the institution.
For individual faculty or students who want to use NeuralWare software for non-commercial academic research projects, we offer a 50% academic discount for most NeuralWare products. Academic discounts are also offered for Technical Assistance Programs and NeuralWare training courses.
For faculty who wish to install NeuralWare products on classroom computers for teaching, or student research, we offer a licensing option that permits installing permanently licensed NeuralWare software on the responsible faculty member's personal computer, and annually renewable licenses for NeuralWare software on computers in the classroom. In addition, for a nominal fee students who are enrolled in a related course may, for the duration of the course, obtain temporary individual licenses for personal laptop computers.
For faculty who have specific funded research projects, or for research centers or groups within a degree-granting institution, NeuralWare offers research licenses that permit research and teaching faculty, and students, affiliated with the research entity to install NeuralWare products on desktop and laptop computers for use in non-commercial research projects.
Finally, NeuralWare offers special licenses for entire departments or schools, such as engineering or business, within an institution. Departmental or school licenses permit any student enrolled in a course within the department or school to install and use NeuralWare software on a personal laptop or desktop computer. Individual student licenses are granted annually and are renewable as long as the student remains enrolled in a course offered by the department or school.
